Abiba Sokoto

Fascinated by sound and movement, Abiba Sokoto draws inspiration from across the Black music continuum and its abundant history of communal celebration, resistance and charity. Born to a Burkinabé father and a German mother, while growing up between different parts of France and Freiburg (Germany), she exists amidst various cultural influences. Always staying close to her heart, Abiba creates a vibrant melting pot heavy in broken beat, house and jazz fusion, full of scattered rhythms and intricate basslines.
